Event Recap: CSB Backyard Ultra Marathon

CSB is a social running group founded by soccer players who took up running and wanted to create a unique endurance experience. They launched the Backyard Ultra, an unsanctioned race held at Frederic-Back Park in Montreal’s St-Michel neighborhood. In this challenging race, participants must complete a 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour, until only one person remains. CSB was founded by Gianni Venturino, who also serves on the foundation’s Board of Directors. Among the 50 participants—including founders Susan Handrigan and Joanne Rossy—the standout winner was none other than Gianni Venturino himself, who completed an impressive 10 laps!
