Exercise is not only about building a better lifestyle choice and fit body. It also teaches the importance of balance, of rest, of nutrition and mostly of recovery. Recovery from injury, from illness, from fatigue and from the difficult moments that lead to self-doubt and other emotionally challenging times on and off the field of play or in and out of competition.
Consistent healthy exercise is also about overcoming the negative thoughts and barriers we set in front of ourselves and the limitations set upon us by the expectations of others.
Having felt the effects of a sudden loss of ability in the last two years and the toll it had on my state of mind, my modified but consistent exercise regime is proof of the benefits of getting out there with one foot in front of the next and making it less about the changes or losses vs the future possibilities, even in the shadow of pain.
With every step, with every effort, I recover.
Why I want to be a part of Head2Core
I think my contribution to Head2Core comes with a fresh perspective towards overcoming the loss of control in our health and conditioning while maintaining a persistent eye in the direction of achieving that next goal, the one of our own making and choice.
No matter the inner dialogue, I write my story.
